Indian Head Massage
The treatment can be either stand alone or combined with other forms of massage. When combined with Sports Massage, for example, it can be an extremely effective treatment for neck and shoulder pain, especially if the cause is stress related.
The muscles of the shoulder and neck are kneaded and stretched. This relieves pain and discomfort and improves shoulder joint mobility. In addition a series of gentle soothing movements are applied to the head neck and shoulders. This helps the muscles (and you) relax, effectively relieving stress and anxiety.
Massage of the face soothes tense facial muscles, relieves tired eyes and mental fatigue, improving concentration. Massage will also encourage the release of endorphins which help to relieve emotional stress and elevate the mood. As a result Indian head massage is a useful aid in the treatment of depression and stress management.
An effective Indian Head Massage can be given in 30 minutes. However for a really deep relaxation why not treat yourself to a full 60 minutes.
Another favourite indulgence we offer is to combine Indian Head Massage with a Hot Stone Massage for a full body relaxation treatment taking up to 90 minutes.
Finally, if you are suffering from headaches as a result of stress and tight muscles, we recommend a combined Sports and Indian Head Massage. In this way we are able to address both muscular tightness and help with stress management.
